  | The BBC is off to an incredibly strong start as it begins selling selected TV shows through iTunes in the US. BBC America began selling TV series in the US this week, launching with the following titles: Torchwood, Little Britain and Robin Hood. It appears the content has struck a nerve in the US, with the BBC now seizing three of the top ten TV seasons places on the iTunes Store in the US.
Torchwood is at numbers four (series two) and five (series one) on the top ten list while Little Britain takes third place in Apple’s own top ten, which is itself generated on the basis of sales. Interestingly, none of the BBC’s TV shows have ranked among the top ten series in terms of individual episodes, suggest that the US audience, at least, is purchasing entire series of the BBC shows - clearly a very strong start.

  | Hi Will
Incidentally, here's a snapshot of my desktop with dashboard up so you can see where I have guitarchord in situ.
Suddenly realised you had snapshots of other people's desktops. the lower left widget is a web snippet of my songs on iCompositions and the live updates to them. The digitial heaven one is amazing as it works out how many GB of storage video will take up depending on frame rate and resolution. IT also works in reverse of how many hours a certain amount of GB equates to. The ontour one tracks your iTunes library and lets you know when your favourite artists are playing live and where.
Best regards,
Sam Mangan

  | Hi Will.
Sounds wonderful. You are more than welcome to use some of my music in the podcast which is very kind of you. I'm very happy to contribute to the podcast on a regular basis. We'll need to work out how to title it correctly for the full on 'British Mac feel'. Maybe some kind of title that reflects films / TV with a mac kinda twist.
Once again, thanks for offering to promote my music. It's also worth mentioning that any aspiring musicians who want to be able to write with other musicians but can't get into a band then iCompositions is where I have met many people from around the world and have written with people across 4 other countries!!! We're just finishing another one up at the moment which has two Americans, myself (a brit) and a German as well. You just couldn't do that 10 years ago (when I used to use an old oil heater for a drum kit!!!!!)
Best regards,
Sam Mangan

  | Hi Will,
I'm a recent OS X user but I'm afraid I might be someone you don't want to hear from. I'm running a genuine copy of OS X Leopard which I purchased but on a PC using an EFI emulator.
I can't afford to buy Apple hardware but I have a decent spec PC (c2d CPU, 2Gb RAM, good video card) and I really enjoy using OS X.
I'd be very interested to hear the views of a die-hard Mac enthusiast regarding this. I'm paying Apple for the OS, I'm just not using their hardware and I do feel that I'm not losing out because of this. If I were to be using a "real" Mac, the box would be under my desk and I'd not be able to see it anyway so I don't see how anyone can complain that this isn't the same as apple hardware. I have bought an apple keyboard and mouse.
What do you and other Mac users think of the "OS X on a PC" thing? I listen to a lot of mac related podcasts and I never hear it mentioned.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Rob.

  | Hi Will
I am a long-time listener from Dublin. I just listened to your latest podcast; episode 66 I think. I just have to know what the name of the first song is that you played. Its one that I have heard many times and always wonder how I can find out what/who of is.
Would you be so kind as to ease my pain?
Thanks in advance.
Eric Ps. Great podcast!

  | Will. You're a flipping genius.
I discovered British Mac on iTunes last week and have been catching up ever since. It's just great. The space and time you give to the music and jingles is nothing less than a revelation. It's rare to hear music breath like that on talkies. It all fits in so well with your style of presenting. More music from my/your childhood please.
I plan to donate at some point.
One thing. I was interested in the St. British Mac from #64, "Running Your Mac Lean, Clean, and Mean" but I couldn't find a download. Is there a separate article by Mike or was it just a link to the MacWorld presentation?
Oh. And you must move back into the camper van immediately. Recording the show in a field is the way forward.

  | Hey Will,
You crazy fool .. go watch Black Books immediately .. you mentioned you'd never heard of it ... it's just awesome. Really funny .. with Bill Bailey, and Dylan Moran. I used to run a video and music shop . and I can tell you .. I practically was Bernard Black (A surly git who hates his customers :P), except that I'm not irish :P. Seriously you'll love it .. try out an episode in iTunes. They're all pretty good but if you want a choice pick .. I'd say of season one .. try episode 3, .... from season 2 .. I'd say episode 4 .. and from season 3 .. episode 1.
Those are the ones I'd recommend for anyone who's never seen this great series. I'm a big Bill Bailey fan so this series had my right from the off.
It would be nice if they'd get Doctor Who on iTunes would'nt it .. instead of all this yank crap.
Anyways there we go. Wave to the Iron Bridge when you see it next for me .. haven't been there in many many years. (Did I mention I lived in Madley when I were a lad). Take care,
Heto

  | Hi will. Love the podcast. Its especially nice to listen to one with such a laid back and relaxed style. I've always wondered how you can play all those audio clips on your podcast? All other podcasts I listen to seem very careful not to play licensed music.
Do british icons as a rule have to be dead?
Im not sure if you've had him before (I've only listened since ep60) but I think Tony Hancock deserved a mention.
Ciao
Dom
