  | No Flash for iPhone - Jobs Flash for mobiles isn't good enough, while proper Flash runs too slowly on iPhone, Jobs warns Jonny Evans
Immediate hopes to see BBC iPlayer content on the iPhone were sundered during last night's Apple shareholder's meeting. Apple CEO Steve Jobs went on record to warn that the iPhone needs a Flash Player that works like it does on a computer, warning that the Flash Lite Player Adobe develops for mobile phones isn't sufficiently advanced for an iPhone.
"Proper" Flash "performs too slow to be useful," on the iPhone, Jobs warned. "There's this missing product in the middle. It just doesn't exist," he explained. Apple's boss insisted Apple maintains a good relationship with Adobe all the same. Jobs was a little less lyrical when it came to fielding questions pertaining to the iPhone SDK, saying only: "You'll see a lot of applications out there this summer." Jobs also promised the release of more .Mac applications this year.

  | Apple plans Covent Garden superstore Apple plans to take over Rock Garden site for Covent Garden Apple retail store Jonny Evans
A giant Apple retail store is set to land in Covent Garden, occupying space formerly used by the Rock Garden. A report from Estates Gazette claims the Apple deal will anchor regeneration of the area. The three-storey Apple store will extend across 25,000 square feet.
Apple needs the second store to cope with growing demand for its products, the report explains. Apple is leasing the store from Capital and Countries (CapCo), a subsidiary of Liberty International. Apple has already achieved approval for the plan from its board and has signed "heads of terms" with CapCo for the deal. A source said: "This will be one of the biggest lettings Covent Garden has ever achieved and at a very high rent."

  | Hi Will,
I have been meaning for a long time to tell you how much I enjoy your podcast and to introduce myself.
I am Pete Bell and I am the secretary of the UK's biggest Mac User Group (YMUG - the Yorkshire MUG). I believe you have corresponded with one of our members in the past - Peter Wickenden - who edits our group magazine "Enigma".
I am in the process (just beginning) of re-doing our website, and would like to put a link to your show on it, when I get that far, if that's okay with you.
One thing I hope you can help me with, please. I listened yesterday to your 20/02 episode number 062, and at the close of the podcast (after the bit about "Beyond the Fringe") you played a superb piece of classical music, right to the end of the show, and I was hoping you would 'back-announce' what it was. Could you please let me know what it was, and by whom? Thanks in advance.
Incidentally, I looked in the show notes for this info, and they only seem to go up to episode 60 (before your break).
Wishing you all the best for the future Pete Bell, YMUG
