Quick News
New iTunes
Apple has shipped iTunes 7.4 for Mac and Windows systems.
The new version of the software offers support for the new iPod generation, including the iPod nano (3G), iPod classic and the iPod touch.

This new version allows users to create and buy custom ringtones for their iPhone for 99-cents (plus the cost of the original song).
The update also allows users to watch videos at a larger size in the iTunes window as well as introducing support for playing videos with closed captioning (when available). iTunes users can also now rate albums from one to five stars.
Apple has offered $100 of in-store credit to all iPhone customers that purchased the phone before the recent $200 price cut.
and finally...
iPod HiFi end of life

Apple has imposed its retail death sentence on the iPod HiFi, with the product at 'end of life' status.
The news is likely to be buried by the avalanche of iPod and iTunes-related news emanating this evening straight out of Apple HQ.

Speaking under conditions of strict anonymity, UK resellers confirmed the news during a huddled virtual meeting with Macworld UK tonight.
It's not clear whether the company intends releasing a revised version of the system, but the iPod HiFi is no longer available for purchase from the company's UK online Apple store.
Rumours bang on the nail!

John Appleseed, born John Chapman (September 26, 1774March 18, 1845), was an American pioneer nurseryman who introduced the apple to large parts of Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. He became an American legend while still alive, largely because of his kind and generous ways, his leadership in conservation, and also because of the symbolic importance of apples.

Hi Will

I heard you talking about keyboard shortcuts in a recent podcast - here's a useful one - one problem with Safari is that, if you click on the close window button (top left) when you have several tabs in that window, it closes all tabs without warning - the close window keyboard shortcut, cmd+w, closes only the tab that is to view - a much safer way of working!
