  | Steve Jobs: Free iPhones for Apple employees & Apple Phone launches in US June 28, 2007 - At a town-hall meeting with employees Thursday, Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced that all full-time Apple employees will receive a free 8GB iPhone, while part-time employees who have been with the company for more than a year will also receive a free iPhone.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed Think Secret reports suggest that while three million iPhones are said to have been manufactured ahead of Friday's launch, Apple will only release about one million into the channel this week, staggering product availability availability beyond that to avoid any perceived major shortages.
Finally, Think Secret sources have confirmed that Apple will offer an AppleCare for iPhone extended two-year warranty option for $69, but that the plan will not be available at launch. iPhone owners can purchase the AppleCare plan at any time provided their phone is still covered under the original one-year warranty.

  | New Mac Book Pro's have better iSight ECamm's developer blog, Mac Daddy World, has noticed that new Santa Rosa based MacBook Pros include upgraded iSights sporting a 1.3 mega-pixel camera.
Previous integrated and now-discontinued standalone iSights contained a VGA resolution iSight. While it appears as though Apple's built-in applications such as iChat still force the resolution to VGA quality, any application could theoretically take advantage of the increased resolution as of the Mac OS 10.4.10 update according to the developers.

  | "A family member forgot her administrator password so she could no longer install applications or software updates on her Mac.
Fortunately, by using the Mac OS X install disc, I was able to reset her user account password.
In case this happens to a British Mac listener, I thought it would be useful to cover the steps taken to reset a forgotten user account password using the Mac OS X install disc".

  | I'm a freelance public relations consultant and journalist and, of course, I love Macs.
I work exclusively within non-profit and creative organisations. My client list includes The Open University and First Light, the UK Film Council's young people's filmmaking arm.
Basically, my job is to make sure my clients get coverage across radio, television, press and internet. I'm a former journalist so I tend to know what gets a busy news desk or reporter interested in a story.
Recently I've helped to achieved coverage for clients on everything from Channel Four's Richard & Judy to Radio Four's Front Row.
I work freelance from my base in North East England and I'm not afraid to travel!
I also run a media relations workshops service where I advise organisations on how to improve and retarget their media relations activity. I do these sessions with a working journalist.
Session topics include:
What makes a story?
What do journalists need from you?
Why do case studies work?
Requirements of different types of media.
The importance of being 'current'.
Why is media relations important?
